A monastery from 1316 with a website from 2026: museum, guesthouse and bakery in two languages
The Dominican nuns of Toro look after a monastery with seven centuries of history. They wanted anyone looking for the museum, the guesthouse or the bakery’s products to find it and be able to get in touch.

In shortThe three key points of this case
The monastery receives visitors, groups, the press and people who want to know more about the community.
Hosting, domain and website from scratch, with the sisters as the content team.
The website went live in August 2026. In its first month, half of the visits came from Google.
Seven centuries of heritage and no digital front door
The monastery receives visitors, groups, the press and people who want to know more about the community. Each came in through a different channel.
It needed a website that brought all of that together, in Spanish and in English, and that the community could manage.
Working with the community
Hosting, domain and website from scratch, with the sisters as the content team.
- Structure by audience — museum visitor, guest, bakery customer, journalist and anyone considering religious life.
- Museum and collections — PDF visitor guides in both languages and clear opening times.
- Bakery with a shop — a catalogue with a basket for the bakery’s products.
- Working sessions with the sisters — four sessions between July and August to finalise content and forms; launch in August.
A newly launched website that is already getting visits
The website went live in August 2026. In its first month, half of the visits came from Google.
The forms reply automatically, in the sender’s language, and sort each enquiry by reason: group visit, guesthouse, press. It’s too early for figures; what’s there is a solid foundation.
